PURPOSE:To improve the resistance of the titled cemented carbide and to prolong the service life thereof by regulating the half value of the X-ray diffraction of face-centered cubic type solid solutions at the time of prepg. the titled cemented carbide by the hard phase forming components of the face-centered cubic type solid solutions, binder phase forming components and WC under specific conditions. CONSTITUTION:The WC based cemented carbide having the compsn. consisting of, by weight, 15-45% face-centered cubic type solid solutions consisting of >=2 kinds solid solutions among the carbide, nitride and oxide of 4a, 5a, 6a group metals in an elements periodic table as the hard phase forming components, 5-20% of one or more kinds among iron group metals as the binder phase forming components and the balance WC as the hard phase forming components with inevitable impurities is prepd. At this time, the half value of a (200) phase in the X-ray diffraction of the face-centered cubic type solid solutions is regulated to >=0.30 deg.C. In this way, the titled cemented carbide having excellent wear resistance and loss resistance is obtd.
