PURPOSE:To enable detection of an amount of remaining recording sheets without forming a recording sheet display window, by providing a circuit which computes an amount of remaining recording sheets from the number of revolutions detected by a counting device for a recording sheet in roll, a memory device for an amount of remaining recording sheets, and an output device. CONSTITUTION:When a recording sheet is pulled out from a recording sheet 1 in roll through receipt by a facsimile device and a copy motion to use the sheet in roll, the roll 1 is rotated, and the number of revolutions is counted by a counter 6. The counting value is inputted to a computing circuit 7, the circuit 7 computes an amount of remaining recording sheets based on a similar function to store the result in a memory device 8. The memory 8 stores the amount of the remaining recording sheets even in a state to switch OFF the power source of the facsimile. At a point of time when the power source of the facsimile is made, a present amount of the remaining recording sheets stored in the memory device 8 is outputted to a printer 10 by means of a control device 11 for printing-out. Further, by reserving display of a remaining amount in an operation and control circuit 11, when an amount of the remaining recording sheets is increased to a specified value, it is automatically printed out by means of the printer 10.
