In known grinding machines, attempts have been made to solve the problem of being able to guide the movable parts without play by means of ball guides. However, the ball guides still exhibit a relatively large remaining play which, after lengthy service, increases on account of inevitable wear through abrasion. Such play leads to surface inaccuracies on the worked workpieces. In contrast, the new grinding machine is to have a bearing arrangement of the movable parts which is without play, while at the same time a jolt-free movement is to be ensured. In the new grinding machine, all movable parts are provided with a drive without play and are supported on the frame by means of a smooth-running sliding-bearing guide set without play. All three drives are connected to a programmable common CNC control in order to be able to control them in a coordinated manner. Since, in the arrangement, the sliding bearings are constructed to be compressible to a limited extent, the movable parts can be mounted with such prestress of the sliding-bearing guides that no play arises in the guiding or owing to the normal wear of the sliding surfaces, even after lengthy service. On the other hand, the prestress is chosen such that a jolt-free displacement is also ensured. |
