PURPOSE:To decrease the frequency of incomplete electric discharge liable to occur in intermittent operation, by embedding a dielectric electrode for a discharge electrode in a ozone-generation ceramic plate, embedding a heating wire in the plate at the opposite side to the electrode and forming feeding terminals on the surface of the plate. CONSTITUTION:A group of thin filament discharge electrodes 2 is placed on the surface of a plate or cylinder 1 made of a high-purity alumina ceramic and a plate dielectric electrode 3 is embedded in the plate, etc. The electrodes are made of tungsten. A heating tungsten wire 4 for preheating is embedded in the ceramic 1 at the opposite side to the discharge electrode 2. A discharge electrode terminal 4a and a dielectric electrode terminal 3a are provided on the surface of the ceramic. A high-frequency voltage is applied between the electrodes 2 and 3 to generate a strong creeping discharge on the surface of the ceramic 1 from the electrode 2. Oxygen or air is supplied to the creeping discharge to generate ozone.
