PURPOSE:To eliminate need of providing with an exhaust pipe by applying a glass rod in a gap formed by size difference between the longer sides of a cover glass and an anode substrate. CONSTITUTION:An anode substrate 3 attached with a cover glass 4 is heated in a vacuum heating furnace, and gas in the enclosure composed of the anode substrate 3 and the cover glass 4 is exhausted. Then frit glass 5 is preliminarily applied in the opening formed between the anode substrate 3 and the flange of the cover glass 4, and a sintered glass rod 10 is applied there, so a vacuum container is formed.
