IMPROVED 10W-30 AND 15W-40 SYNTHETIC HYDROCARBONACEOUS ENGINE OIL

Non-polymer thickened multigrade engine oils based on synthetic hydrocarbons are provided. The SAE 10W-30 and SAE 15W-40 engine oils are derived from hydrogenated decene-1 oligomer mixtures wherein the oligomers range from C30 up to C70+. Oligomer mixtures of specified oligomer distribution are combined with appropriate performance additives so that the engine oils meet the desired API Service Requirements for gasoline and/or diesel engine usage.
