PURPOSE:To manufacture a highly sealtight and accurate safety valve by firmly fixing a metal lid to the valve via a piece of insulating material by cauking. CONSTITUTION:A safety valve 22 is mounted on a connecting part 8 inside a cylindrical member 4 of a metal lid 11 via an insulation packing 31, and is installed in the hollow 33 of a caulking die 32. A press-holding jig 34 and a caulking punch 35 are then moved down towards a metal lid 11, and pressed against the upper surface of valve 22 by the jig 34. The jig 34 is subjected to an elastic force by a spring 36, and this force prevents the safety valve 22 from floating upwards. When the punch 35 moves further down while the upper surface of safety valve 22 is being held by the jig 34, the cylindrical member 4 of metal lid 11 is bent towards the inside from the free edge along the inner wall 37 of the hollow 36 of the punch 35, and the safety valve 22 is thereby firmly fixed to the cylindrical member 4 of metal lid 11 via the insulating packing 31. |
