PURPOSE:To permit high-accuracy measurement which is stable over a long period of time by providing a gas diffusion layer consisting of MgO or a material essentially composed of MgO on a cathode surface consisting of a perovskite type composite oxide. CONSTITUTION:An anode 2 essentially consisting of platinum is provided on one face of an oxygen ion conductive solid electrolyte plate 1 and the cathode 3 consisting of the perovskite type composite oxide expressed by the general formula Ln1-xAxCo1-yMeyO3-delta (Ln is >=1 kinds of elements among La, Ce, Pr, and Nd; A is >=1 kinds of elements among Sr, Ca and Ba; Me is >=1 kinds of elements among Ni, Fe, Cr, and V; 0<=x<=1, 0<=y<=1; delta is the deficient amt. of oxygen) is formed on the other face. The gas diffusion layer 4 consisting of the MgO or the material essentially consisting of MgO is provided on the surface of the cathode 3. Electrode lead-out terminals 5, 6 are provided to the anode 2 and the cathode 3. Furthermore, the outside circumferential end face of a laminar structural body consisting of the anode 2, the solid electrolyte plate 1, the cathode 3 and the gas diffusion layer 4 is sealed by a gas impermeable glassy seal 7. |
