PURPOSE:To obtain a superconductor, containing one or more rare earth elements, one or more of alkaline earth elements and alkaline elements, copper and oxygen, having homogeneous composition, high critical temperature and useful in the field, such as power transmission, nuclear fusion and energy storage. CONSTITUTION:A superconductor, produced by blending 16.3-20.8atom.% one or more rare earth elements, such as Y or Sc, with 0.1-8.2atom.% one or more alkaline earth elements, such as Ba or Sr, and alkaline elements, such as K, Rb or Cs, 17-18.5atom.% Cu and 58.5-59.3atom.% O2 to provide a blend and sintering the resultant blend and consisting of a composition expressed by the formula (A is rare earth element; B is alkaline earth or alkaline element), etc. |
