PURPOSE:To cool an end surface effectively and to absorb a shock at the time of movement by fixing one end of an optical fiber to an optical cable, and coupling the holding member at the other end side directly with an oil damper mechanism and making it follow up the expansion and contraction of the optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:When laser light 2 is incident on the optical fiber 5, the fiber 5 expands thermally owing to heat generation corresponding to the internal absorptivity and incident energy. The periphery of the incidence end 5a is fixed to the optical cable 4, but the periphery of a projection end 5b is fixed to a holder 12 which can move freely in a cylinder 14 where oil 13 is charged, so the thermal expansion of the fiber 5 in energy transmission is absorbed and effective cooling is possible. Further, when the cable 4 is moved or stopped by a robot, the holder 12 can not move because its impact speed is large and no unreasonable force is therefore applied to the fiber 5.
