PURPOSE:To improve the utilizing efficiency of a transmission line by dividing a station into plural groups and using an exclusive token for each group. CONSTITUTION:Groups using different protocols, that is, a 1st group (stations A-D) and 2nd group (stations a-d) use different tokens. Moreover, a token control station 8 is connected to a transmission line 2 by a drop cable 3, the token of both the groups is relayed and the timing sending both the tokens to the transmission line 2 is controlled. Thus, the transmission timing of the stations A-D and a-d of both the groups, that is, the occupied time of the transmission line 2 is controlled so as to be made alternate.
