PURPOSE:To eliminate the operation of handling an electric table, by movably setting an indexing motor onto a work table of an automatic machine tool to be moved under control of a numerical control unit and actuating a coupling means to be engaged and disengaged. CONSTITUTION:A conveying pallet 18, which mounts an indexing device 10 to be placed in a fixed condition, is clamped to a predetermined position on a work table 20 by a clamping device 22. While an indexing motor 24, mounted to a mounting frame 26, is slidably arranged on the work table 20 of an automatic machine tool through a pair of guide rails 28. If a positioning instruction of a workpiece, fixed to a rotary indexing table board 14, for a tool 42 is given from a cable 38, the indexing motor 24 moves to a side of the mobile type indexing device 10 connecting a coupling 32, rotating the indexing table board 14 and performing indexing. In this way, the indexing device eliminates troublesome operation of handling an electric table while preventing the indexing motor from infuencing the accuracy of the indexing rotary table board by the motor heat generated. |
