PURPOSE:To perform ink supply and ink injection with high reliability, to reduce the oxidation of liquid ink due to heating and to prevent the deterioration of the ink by vibrating the ink of an ink supply system by vibrating means, and removing air bubbles in the ink. CONSTITUTION:An ink storage unit 1 contains an ultrasonic vibrator (vibrating means) 4, such as a piezoelectric element and a filter 5, and is heated from its bottom by a heater 6. A pulse is applied by driving means to a piezoelectric element 7. Thus, pressure is generated in liquid ink 100 in an ink chamber 10 to inject ink from a nozzle 8. In this case, the vibrator 4 is operated for a predetermined time, for example, by an ultrasonic vibrator controller 11 before a printing is started. Thus, the ink 100 in the unit 1 is vibrated, mixed air bubbles are efficiently exhausted from an opening 12, and an ink supply and an ink injection with high reliability are performed. The vibrator 4 is periodically operated even after the printing is started. Since the vibrator 4 is used as vibrating means, gas of molecular level taken among the molecules of the ink can also be removed. |
