HEAT-RESISTING FILM FOR MUFFLER

PURPOSE:To provide the title film which is lustrous even after heating at high temp., by forming a ground layer from a heat-resisting compsn. wherein specific inorg. powder materials are bonded to one another by a silicone resin and forming an upper layer from a heat-resisting compsn. mainly composed of a straight silicone resin contg. a specific extender pigment in addition to a black pigment. CONSTITUTION:A heat-resisting film for mufflers for the exhaust pipes of automobiles is provided wherein the ground layer is formed from a heat-resisting compsn. wherein inorg. powder materials mainly composed of a mixture of aluminum phosphate powder and/or calcium molybdate and metallic zinc powder are bonded to one another by a silicone resin and its upper layer is formed from a heat-resisting compsn. mainly composed of a straight silicone resin contg. 6-21wt.% mica powder and/or 6-17wt.% potassium titanate fiber as extender pigments in addition to a black pigment. The film is lustrous even after heating it at 360 deg.C and can be used as a substitute for conventional black chromium-plated articles without damaging its commercial value.
