PURPOSE:To make exact discrimination and to exclude insufficient data by scanning urine test paper and light from the source light relatively to each other and discriminating the dropping state of the urine to the test paper by the peak width of absorptivity. CONSTITUTION:A detector 20 of an automatic urine inspection apparatus projects wavelengths properly varying with measuring objects from a light source to the urine test paper 10 and measures the absorptivity by receiving the reflected light from the test paper 10 by a photodetecting element. The urine test paper 10 and the light from the source light are scanned relatively to each other and the dropping state of the urine to the urine test paper 10 is discriminated by the peak width of the absorptivity. The dropping state of the urine to the test paper 10 is classified to 'Fully Wet', 'Parially Wet', and 'Not Wet'. A 'Routine Error' is decided and is displayed accordingly in the case of the 'Partially Wet' and 'Not Wet'. 'Need' or 'No Need' of a reinspection to the specimen urine is thereby easily discriminated.
