PURPOSE:To effectively detect an injection error and to eliminate a manned monitoring step by comparing a printed dot with printing data by utilizing an image sensor to detect whether ink particles are normally injected or not. CONSTITUTION:Elements of an image sensor 3 are so disposed at arbitrary intervals as to coincide with the height of an injection nozzle 2 of a recording head 1. When the head is laterally scanned to be printed, the sensor 3 reads out dots printed on a recording sheet after a time necessary to scan the head at an arbitrary interval, a detector 7 compares it with comparison printing data to judge whether an injection error, such as an injection direction mistake, an injection disabling takes place or not. If the data is different from the printed dot by the comparison, the injection is judged erroroneous to stop the printing, and the error is compensated. On the contrary, if printing is judged normal, the printing is continued as it is. |
