PURPOSE:To enable quick, easy and sure fitting by inserting the head of a piston in a retaining cup, in which are fitted piston rings with dislocated notch, sinking the piston rings while the retaining cup is positioned in the ring groove, and thus completing the installation. CONSTITUTION:Piston rings l1, l2, l3 with dislocated notch are fitted in a conical retaining cup U enlarging its dia. downward, and the head Pa of a piston P is inserted in a retaining cup U, and the bottom surface U5 of the retaining cup is aligned with the upper side face P1-S of the lowermost ring groove of the piston P. Then the piston ring l1 is depressed and fitted on the piston P, followed by positional alignment one after another through sinking of the piston P or rising of the retaining cup U, and the other pistons l2, l3 are fitted in the ring grooves P2, P3 one another. This accomplishes quick, easy and sure fitting of the piston rings l1, l2, l3 on the piston P. |
