The vibratory finishing appts. for the surface treatment of workpieces comprises (i) an elongated annular barrel or channel with parallel side portions joined by circular parts end portions, (ii) a plurality of springs supporting the barrel or channel, (iii) two or more electric motors fixed in relation to the channel, and (iv) electrical control means for controlling speed of revolution of at least one motor and for feeding back a signal responsive to the shaft phase difference of such rotation as between the motors. This shaft phase difference can be adjusted to a selected predetermined valve.
