PURPOSE:To efficiently generate a smoothed curved surface passing through a designated point string by generating a lacking point string automatically, and executing the convergence calculation based on the generated rough grid- shaped of point string and the inclination of a designated surface. CONSTITUTION:The titled system is provided with generation means 2-4 which decide whether a designated point string is a grid shape or not, generate lacking point string automatically to match the number of point strings in the case the point string is in an incomplete grid shape, and generate a rough grid-shaped of point string and, means 5, 6 which calculate the convergence in order to generate a smooth curved surface having an inclination designated on the boundary and passing through the grid shaped point string generated by the means 2-4, and generate a free curved surface by means of a B-spline curved surface. As a result, a smoothed free curved surface as the above-mentioned can be efficiently generated.
