PURPOSE:To improve the smoothness of the surface of an electric charge transfer layer by dipping a drum like substrate body into the solution of an electric charge transfer material, and by pulling up said body from said solution while relatively rotating said body in the circumferential direction of the body to apply said material on the surface of the body, thereby unifying the charge transfer layer in the circumferential direction of said body. CONSTITUTION:The solution of the charge transfer material 3' is placed in a vessel 21, and the drum like substrate body 22 is dipped into the solution. The material 3' is applied on the surface of the body 22 by pulling up a supporting body 23 which suspends said body 22 by means of a lifting means 24. A rotary driving apparatus 25 is arranged, with synchronizing with the lifting means 24 so as to give revolution to the body 22. Thus, as the body 22 is pulled up from the solution while rotating the body 22 in the circumferential direction, even in the case that the solution is applied partially ununiform, the solution is averaged by rotating force, thereby obtaining the smooth surface of the titled body. |
