PURPOSE:To decrease crosstalks and leakage magnetic fluxes by providing a notch on a gap material layer in the thickness direction thereof across a magnetic core part, gap material layer and magnetic film and exposing a core edge only in the track. CONSTITUTION:A half body block laminated alternately with 1st magnetic films 7 and nonmagnetic substrates 6 is constituted by forming the magnetic films 7 consisting of an amorphous alloy, etc., by sputtering, etc., on the substrates 6 consisting of ceramics, etc., and cutting the same to a rectangular shape. A winding groove 14 for a winding hole 12 is then provided on the surface to constitute a gap surface 15 in the lamination direction, by which the head core half body is obtd. A packing material 16 is further formed in the groove 14 and the gap surface 15 is polished. The nonmagnetic gap material 9 consisting of SiO2, etc., and the 2nd magnetic film 8 are adhered onto the gap surface 15. The notched part is then formed and the nonmagnetic material 10 such as low melting point glass is packed into the notched part. A nonmagnetic reinforcing material 11 is formed on the 2nd magnetic film 8. Undercuts 13 are thereafter provided on the head so that the unnecessary core edge is not exposed on the front face of the magnetic head to constitute the sliding surface.
