Antiulcer compounds of the formula where R<1> is optionally substituted 2-(thieno[3,4-d]-imidazolyl) or 2-(thieno[2,3-d]imidazolyl) and R<2> is optionally substituted 2-pyridyl, 2-quinolyl or 4-thiazolyl; and corresponding intermediate sulfides, also useful as gastric acid antisecretory agents.
