PURPOSE:To eliminate deterioration and fluctuation of display/response performance from a liquid crystal display element by holding a liquid crystal panel in such a manner that an injection port of the liquid crystal panel contacts with a liquid crystal injection sink. CONSTITUTION:A device is constituted of a tank 3 housing at least a defoaming section of liquid crystals 1, a cooling section 2 contacting with the liquid crystal defoaming section, a liquid crystal injection sink 6, an opening/closing device 5 for opening or closing a connecting pipe between the liquid crystal defoaming section 1 and the liquid crystal injection sink 6, and a liquid crystal holder 7 which holds a liquid crystal panel 9 in such a manner that the injection port of the liquid crystal panel 9 contacts with the liquid crystal injection sink 6, wherein the inside of the tank 3 is constructed to be evacuated to reduced pressure. Thus, when a liquid crystal is defoamed by evacuation, liquid crystal component evaporated in the liquid crystal defoaming section 1 is recovered in the cooling section 2 utilizing the change of vapor pressure due to temp. difference, and returned to the liquid crystal defoaming section (sink) 1. By this constitution, variation of liquid crystal compsn. during injection of the liquid crystal is retarded, and fluctuation of liquid crystal temp. range and display performance of a liquid crystal display element, and deterioration of response performance are prevented.
