PURPOSE:To permit taking of a longer fluoroscopic examination time by previously setting a fluoroscopically examinable range and executing X-ray radiation when a film is in the fluoroscopically examinable range even if said film does not exist in a standby position. CONSTITUTION:An angle theta of an X-ray radiation field is previously calculated according to input conditions and the fluoroscopically examinable range is determined in accordance therewith. After the position of the film 9 existing between the standby position 12 and an irradiation field end 11a is detected, decision is made as to whether the film 9 is in the fluoroscopically examinable range, i.e., the range where X-ray fogging does not arise or not. Such control as to turn on an X-ray tube 6 is executed and, therefore, the X-ray radiation is executed and the fluorescopic examination is permitted if the film exists within the fluoroscopically examinable range. The fluoroscopic examination is thereby permitted even if the film does not exist in the standby position as far as the film of a photographable size except the max. film size is disposed and, therefore, the longer fluoroscopic examination time can be taken.
