PURPOSE:To release a jam generated due to a fact that a photosensitive mate rial and an image receiving material are superposed in excess, by stopping a driving motor of a pressure at a prescribed torque which does not become an overload at the time of restart, and rotating backward the driving motor. CONSTITUTION:When a photosensitive material 8 for executing a transfer and an image receiving material 9 rush in between nip rollers 1, 2, the maximum torque is shown, therefore, a torque at the time of stop is set so that a torque applied to a driving motor becomes below an allowable torque of the driving motor at the time of restart after the driving motor has stopped, and the driving motor is stopped. In such a way, when the device does not become a state that paper 9 is not inserted and held completely between the nip rollers 1, 2 or even if the device has become said state, the driving motor rotates backward by a reverse rotation switch of the driving motor, and a jam is released.
