ROLL GRINDING APPARATUS FOR ROLLING MILL

This roll grinder, for dressing the profile of a rolling mill roll, consists of a frame reciprocating in guides perpendicular to the roll axis, supported by an adjacent housing. Across the frame, in the direction of the roll axis, an inclined guide carries a casing which may be reciprocated from side to side. Guide holes in the casing, facing the roll, carry a sliding grindstone holder. A retangular plate grind-stone is carried in the head of each holder, itself provided with an independent means of reciprocating the grind-stone. As the holder advances the grindstone is clamped in position by a wedge.
