PURPOSE:To permit strong adhesion of perfluoropolyether which is a lubricating agent on the surface of a magnetic disk medium by using a fluorine base solvent having the b. p. higher than the b. p. of the trichlorotrifluoroethane for the solvent of a lubricating agent soln., heating the lubricating agent soln. to >=100 deg.C and subjecting the medium to dipping overcoating with said soln. CONSTITUTION:The fluorine solvent having the b. p. higher than the b. p. of the trichlorotrifluoroethane is used for the solvent of the lubricating agent soln. and the lubricating agent soln. is heated to >=100 deg.C, then the medium is subjected to the dipping overcoating with said soln. There are two kinds; the fluorine solvent which is expressed by molecular formula I and has the average mol.wt. ranging 450-500 and the fluorine solvent expressed by molecular formula II, as the solvent which permits heating of the lubricating agent soln. to >=100 deg.C. The oxygen in the perfluoropolyether widely used as the lubricating agent is oxygen-bonded to the surface of the magnetic disk medium. The strong adhesion of the perfluoropolyether which is the lubricating agent on the surface of the magnetic disk medium is thereby permitted.
