PURPOSE:To make outputs from individual photodetectors inside a line sensor uniform by a method wherein areas of wiring parts connecting the individual photodetector to signal processing circuits are made mutually equal. CONSTITUTION:Signal processing circuits 3i corresponding to individual photodetector 1: (where i = a-f) are connected by using wiring parts 2i in such a way that areas of the wiring parts are mutually equal. By this setup, it is possible to make the capacitance of the individual wiring parts uniform and to make areas of individual gaps between the wiring parts uniform. If the areas of the individual wiring parts connecting the photodetector parts to their signal processing circuits are made uniform, it is possible to suppress the non- uniformity of outputs between individual bits which is caused by a difference in the capacitance between the wiring parts and the difference in leakage outputs due to the light irradiated from the gaps between the wiring parts.
