PURPOSE:To reduce running cost and enable an ink to be supplied by providing a means for feeding a recording medium so as to make contact with the surface of a recording body heated by a recording head, and a means for supplying an ink to the recording body. CONSTITUTION:A recording body 2 impregnated with a thermally transferable ink 1 is rotated in the direction of an arrow (a) by a motor 3, and a pressure contact member 4 is pressed against and separated from the body 2 at a pressure contact part A. A recording head 5 capable of generating heat according to an image signal is brought into contact with the surface of the recording body 2, and when the surface of the body 2 being rotated is heated by the head 5, the ink 1 infiltrated in the body 2 is melted in an image pattern, and a latent record image is formed on the surface of the body 2. Synchronously with the formation of the latent image, a recording medium 7 is fed to the pressure contact part A by a feeding means 6, whereby the latent image is pressed against the recording paper 7, the molten ink is transferred to the paper 7, and the paper 7 thus recorded is discharged into a delivery tray 8. An ink supplying means 26 is brought into contact with and separated from the surface of the recording body 2 to supply the ink to the recording body 2 as required. |
