PURPOSE:To eliminate supporting member for a guide member, by rotating the guide member and a ribbon cassette integrally around a carriage guide shaft and making a print ribbon held on the guide member correspond to the front face of the print head without stretching or loosening. CONSTITUTION:Nose portion 13a of a print head 13 is fitted with a head ribbon guide 60 comprising a drum section having a hole 60a engagable with a projection 12 at the upper end portion of a carriage 12 and a ribbon guide face 60b extending vertically from the front end of the drum section with approximately same curvature as the rotary locus of a print ribbon 15. When the print head 13 is mounted on the upper end of the carriage 12 with the guide 60 fitted to the nose portion 13a of the print head 13, the hole 60a engages with the projection 12a so as to secure the head ribbon guide 60 to the carriage 12 together with the print head 13. Consequently, the print head 15 can be rotated by means of the head ribbon guide 60 without hooking the print ribbon 15 to the tip of the print head 13.
