PURPOSE:To attain system maintenance with high reliability by using a setting means to set the memory operating range and using an inhibition means to inhibit the change at the outside of the range so as to prevent memory rewrite of an area not intended due to mis-operation. CONSTITUTION:The memory operating range is set as an address in a system memory 1b by a memory operating range setting means 1e in a debug monitor means 1d through a CRT 2 at first. Then any demmand of rewrite, transfer, collation of the storage content of the memory 1b is inputted. Whether or not any processing by the demmand revises the content in the set memory operating range is discriminated and when it is discriminated that the area at the outside of the range is revised, a memory rewrite inhibition means 1f inhibits the operation by demmand and a debug monitor means 1c detecting it displays a warning message onto the CRT 2. On the other hand, when it is discriminated to be the content revision within the range, the rewrite, transfer, collation of the memory by the demmand is executed and processed succeedingly.
