PURPOSE:To obtain an actuator, large in a thrust and small in an electric time constant, by converting the polarity of a permanent magnet with a pitch equal to the teeth of a stator opposing to the permanent magnet. CONSTITUTION:Stators 1, 2 are provided with magnetic poles A, A', B, B' which are so related in the relation of the phases thereof that the magnetic pole A' becomes the polarity S, the magnetic pole B comes to an intermediate point between the S-pole and the N-pole of the permanent magnet 9 and the magnetic pole B' comes to an intermediate position between the N-pole and the S-pole when the magnetic pole A approaches a permanent magnet 8. Windings 3, 4 are provided on the magnetic poles A, A' while the windings 5, 6 are provided on the magnetic poles B, B'. When the phase of the permanent magnets 8, 9 coincides with the phase of the magnets of the stators 1, 2, the flux of the permanent magnets, having a short gap length, is intersected with the windings. When the phases of the teeth of the permanent magnets 8, 9 are deviated by a half pitch, the flux is terminated in the permanent magnets with each other and will never be intersected with the windings. When the gap length of the permanent magnet of a reverse polarity is shortened, the flux is intersected in a reverse direction. Thus, the intersecting flux of the windings 3-6 varies to forward and reverse directions with zero value as reference point by the relative positional variation of the magnetic poles A, A' and B, B' together with the permanent magnets 8, 9, thereby a very large thrust force may be obtained.
