PURPOSE:To make it possible to feed a bond-shaped body in a stabilized manner even in a liquid without causing the band-shaped body subjected to a large tension, and preventing wrinkles and meandering from occurring by forming raised parts having a frontal edge line of a quadric curve laterally symmetric at constant intervals over a circumferential surface of a roller with the quadric curve being an arc, parabola, hyperbola, or the like. CONSTITUTION:Raised parts 2 having a frontal edge line of a quadric curve laterally symmetric such as an arc, parabola, hyperbola or the like at constant intervals in the direction of circumference are formed on the peripheral surface 1 of a roller. As a result, a force which stretches a band-shaped body in the direction of the width of the band-shaped body to be fed such as paper, plastic film or metallic foil is continuously produced and increased in the direction of the width, and the band-shaped body can be fed without causing wrinkles and meandering. In a liquid, on the other hand, a force is produced so as to limit the direction of liquid flow, to produce a pumping action by the raised part 2, and to stretch the band-shaped body. As a result, even a very thin metallic foil or the like can be fed in a stabilized manner without causing wrinkles.
