<p>A vehicle braking apparatus having a wheel lock control arrangement with isolation valves (32,38,46,50) for each wheel brake (28,30,42,44) and either three or four solenoid and valve assemblies (34,40,48,52). In one arrangement, each wheel brake and isolation valve has its own solenoid and control valve assembly. In other arrangements two front wheel brakes have separate solenoid and valve assemblies and the two rear wheel brakes have a single solenoid and valve assembly controlling both isolation valves. Traction control may be incorporated into the apparatus so that a wheel brake requiring braking for traction control purposes may be applied by pump pressure without the wheel brakes themselves having to be applied through service braking.</p> |
