BLUE LIGHT EMITTING ELEMENT

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain a blue light emitting element of high brightness by a method wherein the first II-VI compound semiconductor is formed into a photo taking out window. CONSTITUTION:An n type ZnSe layer 12 and a p type ZnSxSe1-x13 as a photo taking-out window are successively lamination-formed on an n type ZnSe substrate 11. The light quantity reaching the photo taking-out window 13 increases due to the lack of any photoabsorbing layer around the light emitting layer 12 moreover, any light (a) reflected from the surface can repeat multiple reflections due to no internal absorption to be externally taken out of the surface. Thus, a bright light-emitting element can be obtained.
