PURPOSE:To reduce noise sources by using a water-cooled driving motor, and coupling the driving motor directly to a multiple-stage centrifugal pump without using a bearing unit for coupling in the title membrane separator using a membrane module. CONSTITUTION:The driving motor 19 is cooled by water, and a cooling water passage is formed on the inside of a casing 19b. The coupling part 20 between the multiple-stage centrifugal pump 18 and the driving motor 19 is formed with a housing 20a, a cylindrical coupling 20b, etc. Namely, one side of the housing 20a is fixed to the end face of the motor casing 19b by a bolt 24, and the suction-side casing 18c of the pump casing is abutted on the other end face of the housing 20a through a seal retainer 25 and clamped and fixed by a bolt 26. As a result, a cooling fan, etc., are omitted, and the noise due to the operation of a pump device can be remarkably reduced.
