PURPOSE:To prevent numerals, which cannot actually exist, from being outputted as analysis results in case of analysis of a numeral string by analyzing the numeral string in consideration of the existence of arrangement of indistinct numerals in the numeral string. CONSTITUTION:When an input is supplied from a keyboard KB, an interrupt signal is sent to a microprocessor CPU, and the microprocessor CPU outputs various control signals stored in a ROM, and various controls are performed in accordance with these control signals. A RAM includes a word dictionary DIC for KANA(Japanese syllabary)-KANJI (Chinese character) conversion except numeral strings, a numeral dictionary NUMDIC for KANA-KANJI conversion of numeral strings, a numeral storage NUMPTR where information of numerals found by retrieval of the numeral dictionary is stored, and a numeral string storage NUMSTR where information of the numeral string analyzed as the numeral string is stored. If arrangement of indistinct numerals exists in the numeral string, connection of numerals indicating positions of the numeral string is made impossible.
