PURPOSE:To eliminate uneven metallic finishing by coating a base paint contg. a base resin, alkoxylated methylol melamine, metallic pigment and specific cellulose acetate butyrate on a base plate for painting. CONSTITUTION:The metallic base paint is prepd. by compounding the base resin, the amino resin essentially consisting of the alkoxylated methylol melamine having the mol.wt. distribution contg. 35wt.% 1 nuclide of partly or fully methoxylated methylol melamine, the metallic pigment and the cellulose acetate butyrate having 30-42wt.% degree of acetylation, 2.4-4.5wt.% degree of butyryl formation at 2.4-4.5wt.%. After the above-mentioned metallic base paint is coated on the base plate for coating, a top clear paint is coated thereon and the base plate is heated to cure the two coated films simultaneously, by which the metallic finishing is executed.
