PURPOSE:To facilitate to constitute a host system by providing further a second control part having a table to convert from a file name to a physical track and a sector address. CONSTITUTION:A second control part 5 is provided in which the writing contents of an optical disk 1 come to be the a corresponding table (converting table) of a file name and a physical address, and are stored in the internal part. When the access of the file name only is executed from a host device 7 through a signal line 6, the second control part 5 converts the file name to a corresponding physical address composed of a track address and a sector address by using the stored converting table and sends it to a first control part 4. Based on the physical address the first control part 4 controls a driving part 2 and a read write head part 3. Thus, the constitution of the system with an optical disk device is greatly facilitated.
