PURPOSE:To stably form a high-accuracy gage which has less errors by a temp. change by putting a resistance change rate TCR of a metal alloy within a prescribed range by a prescribed equation and executing such a heat treatment for stabilization by which TCR is decreased to zero. CONSTITUTION:The blending ratios and working rate of nickel and chromium which are main metals as well as aluminum, iron, copper, etc., are determined by the prescribed regression equation in such a manner that the resistance change rate TCR per 1 deg.C of a strain gage is brought within the -10X10<-6>/ deg.C< TCR<-1X10<-6>/ deg.C. A gate element is then prepd. of this alloy and is attached to a base material. The heat treatment temp. at which the above-mentioned TCR is decreased to zero or nearly zero, for example, at the point (a) and point (b) in the figure is determined. The heat treatment for stabilization is executed at this temp. As a result, the high-accuracy strain gage which can extremely minimize the apparent strain by a temp. change in spite of the presence of such change in the environmental temp. is obtd.
