PURPOSE:To reduce the number of components in use and to improve detection accuracy by constituting a zero-phase detector so that light is split and mixed by beam splitters provided in respective sensors. CONSTITUTION:Light from a light source 9 is made incident on a polarization beam splitter 13 incorporated in a sensor SR corresponding to a phase R among three phases R, S, and T by using an optical fiber 1, and one of P and S polarized light beams which are split here is made incident on a Pockels effect element 4 or Faraday effect element 6 to impose intensity modulation and then made incident on an optical branching device 15 through an optical fiber 1'. Similar operation is performed for the phases S and T and their output light beams are put together by the optical branching device 15 and inputted as a zero phase component to a photodetector 10. Then this output is amplified to obtain a zero-phase voltage and a zero-phase current. Thus, the detector of simple constitution which has no error in spite of variance in characteristics is obtained.
|
