PURPOSE:To make it possible to manufacture a joint body having a high joint strength and a high degree of reliability by carrying out pretreatment with the use of electric discharge machining between workpieces so as to obtain the fitting between complicated shapes, a suitable joint surface roughness and a suitable thickness of adhesive agent. CONSTITUTION:A voltage is applied to workpieces 1, 2 therebetween to carry out electric discharge machining so that the shape of one of the workpieces, which is comparatively easy for machining is transferred to the other workpiece, and therefore the fitting in an arbitrary shape is obtained. Thus obtained shape is used for a joint surface for the shapes and the outer surfaces of both jointed workpieces after electric discharge machining without deformation, and therefore a firm and reliable jointed body is obtained. Further, a joint layer or an abrasive layer 5 is formed in a part corresponding to the clearance between jointed members 3, 4 which are produced by electric discharge machining.
