PURPOSE:To easily mass-produce a superior-quality lens wherein a defective is extremely reduced by pressing the effective face of luminous flux of gob with the pressure of gas ejected through a porous wall to mold it and deforming the circumference excepting the effective face of luminous flux while carrying it. CONSTITUTION:Gobs 41 are molded by cutting a glass stock 4 to be molded which is flowed out through the orifice 2 of a conduit 1 of melted glass with the cutters 6, 6, and allowed to fall on the bed wall 5. The thickness dimension of the gob 41 is decided by regulating the interval of the molded both cushion walls to the prescribed pressure by means of the amount of gas ejected through respective porous walls of the bed wall 5 and a ceiling wall 8. The thickness of the cushion walls is constituted so that these are formed into prescribed dimension by adjusting the pressurized amount of gas introduced into gaseous chambers 11, 12 through the inflow pipes 7, 9 of gas. The effective faces 42, 42' of luminous flux of the gob 41 are regulated so that these are not thoroughly brought into contact with the others until these are pressed and contacted on the lower die 18 and upper die 19 of a press molding device and brought into contact therewith.
