PURPOSE:To prepare an injection fluid compsn. for recovery of petroleum which is excellent in surface tension lowering capability and stable and has mobility regulating capability, by adding an assistant for solution stabilization to a liq. compsn. comprising a surfactant, an alkaline substance, water optionally contg. an inorganic salt, and a water-soluble polymer. CONSTITUTION:An injection fluid compsn. for recovery of petroleum comprises the following five components a-e: a surfactant (a), an alkaline substance (b), water optionally contg. an inorganic salt (c); a water-soluble polymer for regulation of mobility (d); and at least one assistant (e) for solution stabilization selected from among a polyethylene glycol ether, an alpha-olefin sulfonate having an average equivalent of about 350 or less and an alkylaryl sulfonate having an average equivalent of about 350 or less. It is pref. to use the assistant in an amt. of 50pts.wt. or less in terms of the active ingredient based on 100pts.wt. active ingredient of the surfactant incorporated in the compsn.
