PURPOSE:To permit correction even if a user does not view a hand display device is not viewed at all times during the correction by providing a hand position counter which stores hand positions and an acoustic driving device which outputs an acoustic signal by the output signal from the hand position counter. CONSTITUTION:This hand type electronic timepiece is provided with the hand position counter 7 and the acoustic driving device 8. A signal PD of 1/20Hz for driving a motor is outputted from a rapid feed pulse change over circuit 3 and the hand of the hand display device 6 is under 20sec hand operation in an ordinary state. The user first operates a reset switch S2 in order to initialize the hand position counter 7 in this state. A control signal PC of an H level is then outputted when the user operates a switch S1 for correction in order to correct the time. As a result, a sound is produced at every outputting of a count up signal PT while the hand of the hand display device 6 is subjected to rapid feed hand operation. The acoustic driving device no longer generates sounds when the switch S1 for correction is operated upon ending of the correction.
