PURPOSE:To facilitate an operation and to decrease mis-setting of data by connecting the external terminals of a card-shaped memory medium to a connector and controlling a press device by various sets of the control data determined in accordance with the dye numbers stored in a non-volatile memory. CONSTITUTION:An adequate IC card 10 is selected by the dye numbers stated in a discrimination region 14 of the IC card 10 and is mounted on the connector 27. A card sensor 27a on a press control device 20 side is turned on by this mounting and an arithmetic processor 21 sends a signal for requesting data transfer to a control part 12 on the card 10 side. Then, the control part 12 reads out various sets of the data stored in the non-volatile memory 11 and transmits the same to the processor 21. The processor 21 stores various sets of the control data transmitted thereto into the prescribed area in a memory 22. Various sets of the control data are read out when this data transmission process ends. An output driver 23 is then actuated to control the respective parts of the press device.
