PURPOSE:To manufacture extra large H-shape steels by forming corrugated shapes on the web at an intermediate stage of rolling and flattening and expanding the corrugations in succeeding rolling. CONSTITUTION:A billet heated to a prescribed temp. by a furnace is rolled by a breakdown will to be formed into a beam blank H1, which is rolled by a rough universal mill group whose universal mill is composed of a 1st edger mill to be formed into a rough H-shape steel H3. Then, the rough H-shape steel H3 is formed into a special shape H-shape steel H4 whose both web ends are flat and the web central part is formed into corrugated shapes. The steel H4 is succeedingly finish rolled by a finishing universal mill to be formed into an extra large H-shape steel H5 having a prescribed web height. |
