PURPOSE:To improve the service of a telephone directory, by selecting a page corresponding to the estimated frequency in use of a telephone number desired to register, and re-registering the page corresponding to the frequency in use of each telephone number. CONSTITUTION:A user selects each page of an electronic telephone directory consisting of plural pages corresponding to the estimated frequency in use of the telephone number desired to register. A usage frequency counting means 2 counts the frequency in use of each telephone number registered in each page. A register number editing means 3 re-registers and edits the telephone number from the page on which the telephone number is registered to another page at every prescribed period corresponding to the value of the frequency in use counted by the usage frequency counting means 2.
