PURPOSE:To improve productivity and to permit precision molding, decrease of cracking defects, etc., by driving respective punch shafts independently, detecting the molding loads of the punches by load cells, detecting the respective punch positions with a linear encoder and constituting a driving system as a closed system. CONSTITUTION:A motor 1 is actuated by a control device and the lower main punch 13 is raised via the load cell 9. The lower sub-punch 28 is then raised via the load cell 26 by the actuation of the motor 17. The motions of these punches 13, 14 are detected by the linear encoder. A powder feeder is actuated to feed powder when the lower main punch 13 and the lower sub-punch rise to a prescribed position. A motor 33 is then actuated to lower the upper punch 41 via the load cell 39, by which the powder is compressively molded. The pressurization action is ended when the set amt. of compression is attained. The punch pressurizing force of this time is compared with a reference value and the amt. of packing is corrected by the control device in accordance with the deviation value thereof.
