PURPOSE:To prevent the development of flash in an ingot by pouring molten metal into a mold,heating upper face of the molten metal and upper face of the mold and next blowing cold blast to four corners in the mold to solidify the upper face of the molten metal. CONSTITUTION:Triangle plate 3 is arranged to each gap between the molds 4, which stand in row and are connected with plural pieces, and a circulating chain device for shifting the molds 4 is arranged. At first, the molten metal 5 is poured to each mold 4, which comes to as shifting, through the triangle plate 3. Next, the upper face of the molten metal 5 in the mold 4 and the upper face of the molds 4 are heated by a burner 9 and metal solidified at the upper face and side face of the mold 4 and surface of the triangle plate 3 is remelted. After that, the four corners of the mold 4 are cooled by cold blast from a pipe 13 and cooled by air from a pipe 14 and at last, the molten metal 5 in the mold 4 is solidified by water cooling. As the molten metal 5 stuck and solidified to the mold 4 is remelted and overlapping can be prevented, the development of the flash in the ingot can be prevented.
